El Cubano - Pork Carnita Cuban Sandwich

Soft french bread, ham, swiss cheese, dill pickles, and Pork Carnitas makes for a delicious deli sandwich.


Recipe and Ingredients

1  1/3 cups
Beehive Meals Pork Carnitas
1/2 loafFrench Bread
8 SlicesSliced Deli Ham
6 SlicesSliced Dill Pickles
2 SlicesSliced Swiss Cheese
1 TbspButter
2 TbspsMayo
1 TbspMustard
1 tspHot Sauce
To TasteGarlic Salt
To TasteBlack Pepper


Step 1:

Follow Slow Cooking instructions according to directions for Pork Carnitas.

Step 2:

Slice french bread loaf into 4 inch increments, then slice through the middle in order to create sandwich bread.

In a separate bowl, combine all the ingredients for the sauce, then lather the inside of each slice of bread with sauce.

Place 4 ham slices on bottom bun, then top with pickle slices, and follow with a little more than 1/3 cup of Beehive Meals Pork Carnitas. Cover with a slice of swiss cheese and place opposite slice of french bread on top. 

Step 3:

In a large skillet, melt butter, then place sandwich in butter, press down firmly, and cook over medium heat on each side until each side is crispy and beautifully golden brown.

Step 4:

Serve with french fries, salad, and fresh fruit, and enjoy!
