How to Make Mozzarella Ball Skulls for your Beehive Meals Soups

Looking for a creepy yet classy Halloween snack that’s sure to impress your guests? Mozzarella ball skulls are the perfect blend of spooky and delicious and they couldn’t be easier to make! All you need is a pack of small mozzarella balls (also known as bocconcini or ciliegine) and a silicone skull mold.

What You’ll Need:

  • Silicone skull mold (we like this one best!)

  • Small mozzarella balls (drained)

  • Olive oil or cooking spray (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prep Your Mold: Lightly coat the inside of your silicone skull mold with olive oil or cooking spray. This helps prevent sticking and gives the mozzarella a slight shine.

  2. Shape the Skulls: Place mozzarella balls in skull molds. Bake at 350 F for 6 minutes until softened. Use the back of a spoon to press the warm cheese into the mold.

  3. Let It Set: Place the filled mold in the fridge for about 20–30 minutes to help the mozzarella hold its shape.

  4. Unmold with Care: Carefully pop the mozzarella skulls out of the mold. Silicone makes this easy, but go slow to keep the details intact.

  5. Serve and Spook: Arrange your mozzarella skulls on each serving of your Pasta E Fagioli or other October Soup from Beehive Meals
