Pizza Pasta Calzone

Golden, flaky dough stuffed with flavorful pepperonis, robust Italian sausage, rich marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese, baked to perfection and served with a side of marinara for dipping.

1/2 Pizza Crust
1/2 cup Mozzarella Cheese

Instructions

1. Follow Slow Cooking Instructions to cook Beehive Meals Pizza Pasta.

2. Begin by rolling out your pizza dough, then cutting 6-7" in diameter circles. Once all the dough for the calzones are cut, begin preparing calzones.

3. On one half of the calzone, ensuring to leave about 1 inch on the outer edge with no sauce to ensure you can still seal the calzone, add 1/4 cup of Beehive Meals Pizza Pasta. Then top with about 2 Tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese.

4. Fold the other end of the calzone over on top of the meatballs, then pinch and fold the edges of the calzone to seal in the filling, just as you would a pie! 

5. Move prepared calzones over to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then bake in the oven at 425 for about 10-12 minutes, or according to the instructions on the pizza dough package. If desired, brush the calzones with a garlic butter & herb mixture before baking for a little bit of extra flavor!

6. Remove from oven, then serve with a side of marinara sauce, and enjoy!
