2025 Field of Dreams with Utah Foster Care

“Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.”
Thanks to Utah Foster Care, First Lady Abby Cox and Show Up Utah, the Salt Lake Bees, Entrata, 1999 Collective, Common Thread, and many other community partners, Beehive Meals hosted an unforgettable movie night for foster families, showing the 1993 classic, The Sandlot.

Held on the outfield of The Ballpark at America First Square, families were given the unique opportunity to enjoy the movie from a viewpoint most familiar to the Salt Lake Bees baseball team. Blankets were set out all over the well-manicured field, popcorn spilled here and there, there was a buzz in the air (pun intended). It was a night of celebration and light. As the movie says, “We all felt like Big Leaguers under the lights at some great stadium”.

The Sandlot tells the story of a young boy named Scott, or "Smalls," who moves to a new town in search of friendship. After following a group of boys to a rundown baseball diamond, he awkwardly joins their game. What follows is a summer filled with fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
Like “Smalls”, there are many boys and girls who are figuratively standing on the outskirts of a baseball diamond, waiting and hoping to be included. Utah Foster Care and similar organizations everywhere are doing wonderful things to help these kids, bettering their lives and paving a way forward. Something we hoped to come out of our event was that every child felt loved, included, and seen. Judging by so many smiles and so much laughter, we believe they did.
At Beehive Meals, we believe that small moments can lead to meaningful impact. A night at the ballpark, a story shared under the stars, and a memory made with family are the kinds of experiences that truly matter. We are proud to stand alongside our community partners in supporting foster families and helping every child feel like they belong. And we look forward to creating more memories just like this.
